New linear accelerator: Highly precise, convenient and fast

A new linear accelerator is in use at the Clinic for Radiotherapy and Radiological Oncology at Helios Klinikum Krefeld.

New outlook for pain patients through novel intervention at the joint

For sufferers of joint or tendon pain for whom conservative and surgical therapies no longer achieve a satisfactory effect, there is now the option of so-called transarterial periarticular embolization (TAPE) at the Helios Klinikum Bad Saarow. In this new minimally invasive therapy procedure, microparticles are directed to the painful joint or tendon site via a catheter through the groin, resulting in immediate and usually longer-lasting pain relief.

Another new linear accelerator is in use at the Clinic for Radiation Therapy and Radiation Oncology at Helios University Hospital Wuppertal.

Two professional associations confirm the excellent work of the interventional radiology department at the Helios Park-Hospital Leipzig.

The interventional radiology department of the Helios Park-Hospital Leipzig has faced this assessment in several ways - and passed with flying colors.

With the commissioning of the "Nexaris Angio CT" two years ago, the Helios site in Leipzig possessed a unique selling point throughout Germany. Only the interventional radiology department at Helios Park-Hospital Leipzig was able to offer this innovative technology for patient care. In the meantime, two other clinics nationwide can boast this state-of-the-art medical technology. In Leipzig, this technology has long since proven itself.

Due to the constantly growing number of radiological interventions and the ongoing expansion of the range of services, the team of the Institute of Radiology at the Helios Hospital Bad Saarow can be pleased about a special recognition: The institute, which is headed by head physician Dr. med. Dipl.-Phys. Jan Petersein, has been awarded by the German Society for Interventional Radiology and Minimally Invasive Therapy and may now call itself "DeGIR-certified Center for Minimally Invasive Therapy" as well as "DeGIR-certified Center for Minimally Invasive Vascular Medicine".

Helios University Hospital Wuppertal has successfully achieved a new certification, which proves that all quality requirements for the provision of interventional oncology services are met at the required high level.

The Clinic for Radiation Oncology and Radiation Medicine at the Helios Hospital Bad Saarow is equipped with the latest radiation therapy technology. After the first state-of-the-art therapy unit was installed last year, the second sophisticated radiotherapy system also went into operation at the beginning of June. The new technology enables even more precise and effective cancer treatment. In addition, radiation therapies can be performed even more gently and effectively for patients.

Prof. Dr. med. Matthias Gutberlet has been awarded honorary membership of the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) for his outstanding achievements in the field of cardiovascular imaging. The award was presented during the joint meeting of the ESCR and the European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI) in Berlin. The honorary membership was awarded by the current President of the ESCR, Professor Rozemarijn Vliegenthart from Groningen/Netherlands.
